Far From the Eye, Far From the Heart

Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans. (John Lennon)

At the beginning of March, I set out on a journey. I would be like one of those wandering philosophers in Classic Greece, both cynic and critic, engaged enthusiast and detached observer. My domain, by vocation and avocation, would be all things literary.

Unfortunately, I came upon an unfortunate turn in the road. At the end of May, shortly after posting my last entry to The Literarian, I suffered a serious heart attack. It was a sad and somewhat sordid tale that included disastrous surgery, the end result of which set me back in a significant way.

As a result, I have not posted for almost three months. This is a shame since the site was gaining in both rank and reputation.

In the words of the immortal Comte de Buffon, “Hold on; hold fast; hold out. Patience is genius”. I will return within a few weeks. I would, therefore, ask you all to be patient for just a bit longer. Check your RSS feed for when the next post arrives. In the meantime, be sure to review past entries.
